187 Visa – Regional Sponsorship Migration Scheme (Permanent Visa)
This permanent visa is for skilled workers who wish to work in regional Australia. Applicants can apply under one of two streams
Temporary Residence Transition Stream
For holders of subclass 457/482 TSS visas who have worked for two or three years (depending on specific circumstances) in the same nominated occupation and with the same employer. The employer must support the nomination for Permanent Residency.
Direct Entry Stream
For individuals who have been nominated by their employer and have never, or only briefly, worked in Australia, or for temporary residents who do not qualify for the Temporary Residence Transition stream.
489 Visa – Skilled Regional (Provisional) Visa
This visa is part of the General Skilled Migration program and includes the following pathways:
Invited Pathway
This invitation-only visa is for skilled workers with in-demand skills in a specific state or territory, allowing them to live and work permanently there. To receive an invitation, candidates must submit an Expression of Interest via the SkillSelect immigration system and achieve a minimum score of 65 points (some occupations may require a higher score).
Extended Stay Pathway
This pathway is available to those holding a subclass 475, 487, 495, or 496 visa. Applicants must have held one of these provisional visas and complied with all conditions for at least two years.
Subsequent Entry Pathway
